I would agree with witchtea2 plan, where you can leave your car for free and then get the bus out - there are plenty of places on the A38 where the 75 goes - Driving in the centre is a nightmare and car parks are costly - a day ticket as First Bus DO NOT do returns cost £4 unless you have an English Concessionary Bus Pass First Bus website will give you the frequency of the buses mentioned
