We visited all three caves on a day trip to Reigate and all had something different to offer. It was the hottest day of the year so far so it was quite nice to cool off in the caves! The guides were …Full review by LondonGirl024
Hi I’ve always wanted to visit the caves but suffer with slight claustrophobia and was wondering how you think I would cope it’s not really bad but I’m not that great in large crowds in small spaces. My main interest is ww2 but I’m keen to see all of it so would be good to know how tight it is. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I don't have claustrophobia so can't put myself in your shoes. The caves are quite open and there is no crawling or squeezing, in fact most of the route is like being in large rooms with high ceilings. The route is lit throughout; there is one bit where they turn the light out for effect but you could skip that bit. The WW2 displays are very interesting and worth trying out. There is an air raid shelter complete with sound effects so if that's not for you it's easy to leave out. Crowds are controlled. Only about a dozen people go in at once and the groups are spaced out. Once inside, people are quiet and there is a very calm atmosphere. The main thing to say is that the guides are friendly and responsive so if you feel up to having a quiet word I'm sure they'll look out for you. Lastly, there is a display across from the entrance to the tunnels so if you end up not going in at least the trip won't be wasted.

There were no dogs allowed on the tour. It is a small place with lots of tunnels so it would be very sad if a dog got lost In there. Best is to leave your 4 legged friend and family member at home or with someone that isn't going inside the caves.
Where is the best place to park, we're taking a 5 and 8 year old

There's a Council car park quite near the tunnel entrance but it's not easy to spot. Otherwise multi storey near Everyman cinema or Morrisons (but beware 2 hour limit)
Hi, Planning on doing the caves on the next open day. I understand that it isn't suitable for a pushchair and my son will walk most of it or we will carry him. We need to walk down from the station cab anyone say if somewhere safe to leave a pushchair while we are on the cave walk, Thank you

Hi there you will need to contact the staff. They will probably look after you pushchair near the entrance but I can't guarantee that. Sorry. Have a great time!
