I mostly took the CTA bus from downtown Chicago. As a long term resident of Chicago, car theft is common everywhere in the city and maybe higher in the Hyde park area. The underground parking garages at the MSI maybe somewhat expensive but they are definitely worth it for convenience and safety.

I booked the submarine tour a day in advance. It was full when we got there so worth reserving in advance
