When writing this I am reviewing the beach where the restaurants are. Good beach and as long as you buy a drink you can use the beds free of charge. There are cats and dogs on this beach but they are…Full review by Sightsee01852283903

Sandy beach, but there is a lot of Shells ad seaweed, which doesn't affect the walk. You can walk a few minutes along from the village and your have the place to yourself.Full review by wishytkd

We intended to spend the day there but did not like the look of the beach or the sea grass so moved on to Skala Eresou. Liked it much better sea was lovely for swimming got deep quite quickly and the bottom is very much shingle so getting out is not that easy you need shoes . Our own preference we would not stay in either resort as you are rather cut off for getting to other places we much prefer Anaxos where you have Petra and Molyvos within easy reach either by foot or land train but its personal choice. If you do decided to visit Lesbos which is a beautiful island have you picked up Thomas Cook have cancelled the Birmingham flight. We have had to change to Gatwick. We live in Wiltshire so Gatwick is not too bad for us but our Family who is coming with us live in Shrewsbury not so good for them but we had no choice.

Hello Kalloni Bay lovers, Me and my fiancee are spending 2 weeks in Malemi hotel, stsrting July 24th. Since I have been reading the reviews of the beach there in skala kallonis, however, we are definitely not a pool-at-the-seaside users, we would really appreciate if you could share a few pieces of advice where to go to find any good beaches nearby... The first week we'll be mainly chillin, but the second, we are also going to explore the rest of the island... So, any suggestions for the kalloni bay beaches that can be accesse on foot or by bike, besides the main beach, that is supposed to be dirty? Is it really in that bad state?! Thanks, Katja

Dear Katja The beach is not really dirty, the sand is a greyish colour so not so attractive, but the water is really clear. The Hotel Malemi has an area on the beach at the end of the road from the hotel with sun beds. There was very little rubbish on the beach. We are not really beach people so did not spend any time on that beach or any others, other than walking down the beach to the town. The hotel is really lovely and George and Effie are very welcoming. The facilities at the hotel are good with a nice pool and patio area. Sorry I could not be much help on the beach question. Have a great holiday. Sandra.
