(Gray News) – Taylor Swift has been named the No. 1 artist of the 21st century. Billboard comprised a list of the top artists of the century, based on their album performances on the Billboard 200 chart and their song performances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Billboard’s Top Artists, along with the Top Billboard 200 Albums and Top Hot 100 Songs of the 21st Century, are based on chart performance across the specified period. The ranking system gives a nod to the artists who have left the most significant mark in both album sales and chart hits over the years.

Social media users have berated popularly global music platform Billboard over its recent list of top 21 century musicians. They criticised Billboard for neglect.

Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and numerous other country artists are also featured.
