Carlos Alcaraz has advanced to the second round at Wimbledon but received a warning from tennis icon John McEnroe after struggling in his opening match.

World number one Jannik Sinner began his quest for a first Wimbledon title with a comprehensive straight-sets win over his compatriot Luca Nardi. In his first Grand Slam match since he was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in an epic French Open final, Sinner dismantled his fellow Italian, winning 6-4 6-3 6-0 in under two hours.

Asked to offer his two cents on the situation, Alcaraz suggested that Tour physios and fitness trainers do a very good job so it's not necessary to have them as team members. But personally, the five-time Grand Slam champion prefers to have his own physio and trainer simply because they perfectly know his body.
