WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Thursday to hear a bid by Montana to revive a law that requires parental consent for minors to obtain an abortion, a measure challenged by reproductive health and abortion provider Planned Parenthood as a violation of the Republican-led state's constitution.

After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, Republican prosecutors in Wisconsin said they intended to enforce the old law.

Wisconsin's top state court on Wednesday said an 1849 state law banning abortion in virtually all cases cannot be enforced, rejecting claims that it was revived after a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling three years ago.
