It will be the first time Darren Aronofsky's acclaimed movie — starring Natalie Porman in her Oscar-winning role as a tortured Ballerina — will be shown on Imax screens.
Searchlight and Imax are teaming on the 15th anniverary re-release of Darren Aronofsky and Natalie Portman's "Black Swan."
Some of the largest US theater chains, including Cinemark, Regal and Marcus, have held preliminary talks about jointly marketing their big-screen theaters to blunt the growing influence of Imax Corp.
"At a time when the movie studios and the movie theaters are struggling, IMAX has tremendous momentum because it's proven to be the best way to sell tickets," he said. "If you're at all inclined to invest in the movie industry, IMAX seems like your best bet."
