The Detroit Tigers could have a significant problem on their hands as they try to navigate how they are going to get innings for the rest of the year. On Wednesday evening, the team delivered the devastating news that their young rookie star Jackson Jobe is undergoing Tommy John surgery after missing the last several weeks.

Just minutes before the start of the game against the Orioles, the Tigers announced that right-hander Jackson Jobe will undergo elbow surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament. He will miss the remainder of the season.

"He’s a very determined individual, and I have no question he’s going to work through this process," said Tigers general manager Jeff Greenberg.
