According to Amber Hampton, one of the organizers of the protest with Indivisible Memphis, at the peak of the protest around 4,000 people were in attendance.

Memphians gathered Saturday, June 14, as part of the nationwide “No Kings” protests, aimed at opposing what organizers describe as increasing authoritarianism and government overreach. The protests are part of a nationwide demonstration against President Donald Trump. The flagship “No Kings” march and rally are planned in Philadelphia, but no events are scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., where amilitary parade will take place for Trump’s birthday.

Organizers are calling for Americans to attend demonstrations across the country to protest President Trump on his 79th birthday.

Indivisible cofounder and protest organizer Ezra Levin explained ahead of Saturday that the movement is about reclaiming U.S. patriotism from the Republican Party and to denounce what he called Trump's authoritarian actions.
