Rain and lightning have halted the U.S. Open on its final day. Sam Burns (-2) and Adam Scott (-1) are atop a leaderboard that's suffering through a wickedly difficult Oakmont course, and the wind and rain rolling in over the course of the afternoon made play even trickier.

OAKMONT, Pa. – Final-round play at the 125 th U.S. Open was suspended at 4:01 p.m. ET Sunday after a heavy downpour caused pooling on the fairways and greens at Oakmont Country Club. The final group of Sam Burns and Adam Scott was on the eighth tee – measuring 301 yards, the longest par 3 in U.S. Open history – when the horn sounded for the delay.
