Ireland prop Tadhg Furlong has been ruled out of Saturday's Six Nations opener against England after suffering a recurrence of a calf strain in training, the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) said on Sunday.

Tadhg Furlong has been ruled out of Ireland's opening Six Nations clash with England at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Furlong has suffered a recurrence of a calf strain and has returned home today from Ireland's training camp in Quinta do Lago, with Connacht's Jack Aungier called up as cover.
