Ikner was initially booked into the Leon County Detention Facility before being transferred to the Wakulla County Detention Facility, the Leon County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Ikner's out-of-county transfer was "standard protocol" because his stepmother, Jessica Ikner, is a school resource deputy for the Sheriff's Office.

Authorities have not revealed a motive for the attack, which killed two men and wounded six other people.
