Newsweek reached out to the Tomorrowland festival via email on Wednesday afternoon for comment. Photos showed smoke billowing up from the stage on Wednesday, less than two days before the massive event was set to kick off and welcome more than 70,000 festival goers. Emergency responders and firetrucks were at the scene as the fire blazed.

The festival's mainstage was destroyed by fire on Wednesday (July 16), just two days before the start of the Belgian dance mega-festival.
