Residents of Valley Grove, West Virginia, are dealing with the aftermath of a severe flood that has damaged roads and power lines, and resulted in the loss of life.

WHEELING, W.Va. –Officials with the Ohio County Police Department have released the names of those individuals who have died as a result of the flash flooding that occurred in the area beginning Saturday night into Sunday morning. At Monday afternoon’s press conference, Chief Deputy Kent Lewis confirmed that six people have passed away.

At least five people are confirmed dead and several more are missing as a result of powerful rains and flash flooding that struck Wheeling, W.Va., Saturday. Flood waters came quickly Saturday night, stranding some cars and sending others careening down creeks.

One local church is setting up donations and will be distributing them to the victims affected by Ohio County’s devastating flash flooding. Pastor Judi Ream with Prayer Hill in South Wheeling at 51-36th Street is opening up her Church for people to drop off and receive donations.
