Miami needed to watch just one half of Emory Williams to know there wasn’t a chance he was taking the field next year while the program has College Football Playoff aspirations. So, the Hurricanes put together an NIL package that competed with an NFL salary to land Carson Beck.

The Hurricanes are the frontrunner for the former Georgia quarterback, who has withdrawn his name from the NFL Draft to enter the transfer portal.

“Sources: Georgia transfer quarterback Carson Beck has committed to Miami, with an announcement of his commitment expected soon,” Pete Thamel said in a post. “Beck, a two-year starter for the Bulldogs with a 24-3 career record, will succeed Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Ward there.”
