If a Wordle user guesses a letter that's in the right place, that tile will then turn green. If the letter does appear at some point in the word, but not in the place the user has guessed, it will turn yellow. If the letter does not appear in the word at all then the tile will turn gray.

In January 2022, The New York Times acquired Wordle for an undisclosed seven-figure fee. The game challenges players to guess a five-letter word within six attempts, providing feedback after each guess through colored tiles that indicate correct letters and their positions.
