Dems win big across US; GOP zeroes in on Mamdani as liability
( NewsNation) — Democrats won big Tuesday in key state and local races across the United States that were seen as bellwethers on the second term of Republican President Donald Trump, and Republicans responded by digging in against New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim immigrant and self-described democratic socialist.
Bannon may have been accusing the Democrats of "stealing" a federal election in 2020, as well as insinuating that Trump lost that election in part because the Chinese "dropped" a pandemic on the U.S. As we have reported previously, there is no evidence to show that the 2020 election was stolen.
Bannon served four months in prison in 2024 after defying a congressional subpoena from the January 6 Committee. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to defrauding donors to his We Build the Wall nonprofit, avoiding more jail time. President Donald Trump previously pardoned Bannon for related federal charges.
Democrats have won blowout victories in two races for the Georgia Public Service Commission. Peter Hubbard and Alicia Johnson defeated Republican incumbents Fitz Johnson and Tim Echols.
