The trailer for the upcoming anime, which has been unveiled by Toho Co., introduces us to the show’s group of wayward superheroes ready to break the law for the good of the city. A prequel to popular anime “ My Hero Academia ” is coming exclusively to Sony’s Crunchyroll streaming service outside of Asia next month.

Vigilantes takes place years before the events of the main series, and follows a trio of underground heroes who illegally start fighting criminals to protect their town when the heroes don’t show up.

New episodes of the My Hero Academia prequel series will stream the same day it airs in Japan. Though the main My Hero Academia anime series is set to end later this year, its gritty prequel is about to make its streaming debut on Crunchyroll.

Vigilantes, a prequel to the popular series, will premiere on April 7 on Crunchyroll for audiences outside Asia. The show follows Koichi Haimawari and his vigilante companions as they fight crime without government approval.
