With the approaching winter storm, Virginia State Police is asking residents across the state to keep safety in mind.

As more snow heads toward Virginia Friday night, state police encourage the public to prepare, plan ahead and stay safe. A winter storm warning went into effect Friday across parts of Virginia. This came as winter precipitation is expected to bring some icing in the Southwest Virginia and Hampton Roads

Virginia State Police said troopers have responded to more than 150 crashes across the Commonwealth as a major winter storm spreads snow across the state.
