West Ham had been in the hunt for the striker during the winter window after the long-term injuries sustained by Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen. The England forward did return following his foot injury in Monday night’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge, though, and had put the Hammers into the lead.

West Ham United made only one signing in the January transfer window and that was the arrival of striker Evan Ferguson from Brighton in a loan move. The club also welcomed back James Ward-Prowse and Maxwel Cornet from their loan deals away from the club.
