George Bell, a former deputy in Norfolk, Virginia, who played for the Harlem Globetrotters, has died. WCNC Charlotte reports Bell, who was 7 feet 8 inches tall, was also known as the world's tallest man.

George Bell died in Durham at 67, having played comedy basketball for Harlem Wizards, tried out for the LA Clippers and acted in “American Horror Story.”
