Multiple chocolate-covered products recalled in December due to mislabeled packaging and undeclared substances have been hit with FDA's Class 1 classification.

A chocolate recall was recently upgraded to warn consumers of a potential to “cause serious adverse health consequences of death.”

The FDA defines a Class 1 recall as “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death."
