And while a state championship was the ultimate goal, the Rockford Rams couldn’t find their outside shooting touch and fell short in Saturday’s Division 1 final. Rockford suffered a 61-48 loss to Belleville and ended its season with a 27-2 overall record. It was the Belleville Tigers’ first state championship in school history.

The Rams fended off the Buccaneers for a 55-49 win to clinch a spot in their Division 1 state semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.
