Friday's 6-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers held plenty of heroes, once again. Eight Toronto players recorded a hit.

The first game of the series certainly did not go well for the Tigers. Things seemed to be promising after Jamai Jones hit a home run in the opening frame on Thursday night. However, that was the only time the home side had the lead. The Blue Jays took over in the sixth inning, using a five-run frame to turn the tide in their favor.

With the victory, the Blue Jays are 61-42 overall, which put them percentage points ahead of the Houston Astros in the American League. Toronto also has the second-best record in baseball behind the Milwaukee Brewers, who are percentage points ahead of the Blue Jays.
