Roughly 60 demonstrators were arrested on Friday outside the U.S. Capitol after breaching a police line of bike racks and running toward steps leading to the Capitol Rotunda.

From Silver Spring and Bethesda and Gaithersburg in Maryland, to Fairfax and Falls Church and Arlington in Virginia, people throughout the region came out for “ No Kings Day of Defiiance ” protests. (There was not a “No Kings” protest in DC itself, but there was a march from Logan Circle to the White House organized by Refuse Fascism .)

WASHINGTON (7News) — A military parade celebrated the Army's 250th in Washington D.C., with thousands of people in attendance. Aside from the parade, there was also concert and fireworks as part of the celebration. The celebration also coincides with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, National Flag Day, and the Army’s 250th anniversary.

Metropolitan Police in DC arrested several individuals for car theft, aiming to curb a rise in Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Theft One (Stolen Auto) incidents.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place early Saturday morning in Northwest D.C. No one was injured, police said, and the officer has been put on administrative leave per MPD policy.

A man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Trinidad and the Metropolitan Police Department's (MPD) Homicide Unit is investigating, officials said.
