The Paris chief prosecutor said those arrested are alleged to have helped in the escape of Mohamed Amra in a deadly prison van ambush nine months ago.

Amra vanished after an attack with military-style assault weapons on a prison van carrying him in northern France last May, police say.

Romania and France will continue their strategic partnership, and France's military footprint in Romania will increase, acting president Ilie Bolojan announced after meeting his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Paris on February 19.
