The National Weather Service has simplified some of its winter weather alerts for Wind Chill and Extreme Cold Warnings.

A wind advisory and a fire weather watch were issued Monday for parts of the Chicago area, the National Weather Service said, with dry air and gusty winds of up to 50 miles-per-hour possible at times.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – The risk for moderate or higher spring flooding for the Red River and Devils Lake Basins in the first outlook is low and running below long-term historical averages.
