As you work to change all of your clocks back, safety officials are reminding you to check another fixture in your house: smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

As we set our clocks back an hour for daylight saving time Sunday, St. Johns Fire Chief Kevin Douglas says it's also time to make another change that could keep loved ones safe.

Tuesday: Partly sunny and pleasant, with a high of 69 and low of 51 degrees.

Standard Time arrived at 2 a.m. today, and the American Red Cross urges everyone to mark the occasion by testing their smoke detectors and replacing the batteries if needed.
