In November, Foxconn’s parent company, Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., announced the acquisition of land and a facility to expand its artificial intelligence server production in the Houston area. That $225 million expansion is expected to create 300 jobs, per the GHP.

Apple’s announcement that it plans to build a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Houston is the latest major corporation to establish a footprint in the region. The California-based tech company and producer of iPhone and Mac computers said in the statement the move is part of a four-year $500 billion investment in the U.
