EDT the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning in effect until 5:15 p.m. EDT for Macomb and Oakland counties.

Coverage for scattered thunderstorms will increase Thursday through Saturday around the Piedmont Triad and west toward the Mountains. A marginal or level 1 risk of heavy rain from slow-moving storms is forecast for Thursday and Saturday in the Triad.

The National Weather Service notes that while a formal flood watch has not been issued, the potential for sudden flooding remains high.

The Center Valley area in Upper Saucon Township, where flooding was reported along Route 309, had a recorded 6 inches of rainfall, making it the highest rainfall total in the Lehigh Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Other areas had about 1 or 2 inches of rain.

Some flooding may have crept close to streets in Historic Ellicott City over the last few days, but it was nothing compared to the devastation Main Street has had in the past.

At a news conference Monday, state officials said 101 people remain missing, including 97 in the Kerrville area.

New Jersey is expected to miss the heaviest rainfall in the latest round of thunderstorms on Tuesday, but more flash flooding is possible.

As the water rises, so does the Kerr County community, especially one man who reunited a brother and sister, swept away in the flood.
