An investigation is underway after a body was found in a gas station right off the Loop 101 in Tempe early Friday morning.

The girl’s mother, Jami Hodges, claimed to be unaware of the fall. Hodges was temporarily staying with Lujan, who was caring for four of Hodges’ five children. Hodges allegedly admitted to police to not seeing her 13-year-old daughter regularly while staying at her mother’s home.
Authorities say Tuesday night around 9 p.m., Virginia Lujan called 911 after finding her 13-year-old granddaughter unresponsive.
