Kirk Cousins’ future hangs in the balance. Whilst rumors have floated around about his future, surrounding potential trades, the front office have downplayed notions of Cousins’ impending departure, insisting – somewhat curiously – that they would be happy for him to stick around on the team.

The Minnesota Vikings have had quite the history at the quarterback position. In recent years, they had the stability of Kirk Cousins; they moved on from him, drafted J.J. McCarthy, and signed Sam Darnold.

The Falcons signed Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract this offseason in the hopes he was the missing piece that could thrust them back into the playoffs. But Atlanta was officially eliminated from postseason contention Sunday afternoon.
