A Palestinian American man was beaten to death by settlers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, says the Palestinian Health Ministry, prompting his family to demand that the U.S. lead an investigation.

Six children and two adults were killed. The IDF said the missile had been intended to hit an Islamic Jihad militant in the area but that a malfunction had caused it to fall "dozens of metres from the target". It said the incident was under review.
