The Palisades fire can now be seen across Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, an unsettling development as officials worried about the fire expanding into neighborhoods in Encino and Brentwood and possibly jumping the 405 freeway into Bel Air.

Tens of thousands of people were forced to flee their homes as a deadly brush fire in the Pacific Palisades grew to more than 20,000 acres this week and destroyed thousands of structures.

With the Los Angeles area already reeling from two wildfires, a third broke out Tuesday night in the north end of the Valley.

A suspect is in custody after he allegedly tried to start a fire in the San Fernando Valley community of Woodland Hills. Eyewitnesses tell KFI News that the man was apprehended after being chased by a group of neighbors in a residential area near Topanga Canyon Boulevard not far from Mulholland Heights.
