Indian shares fell on Thursday, with the benchmarks slipping to three-month lows, after the U.S. slapped an extra 25% tariff on Indian exports, stoking concerns over the economic impact of heightened trade tensions.

Sensex, Nifty declined amid weak sentiment after US president announced fresh tariffs on Indian goods over buying Russian crude.

At 9:23 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 80,346.99, down 197 points or 0.24 per cent. The 30-share index had earlier slipped 335 points.
