Legendary Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook and his co-creator on the HBO Max series The Sympathizer have been expelled from the Hollywood writers' union after allegedly working during the strike.

The Writers Guild of America has expelled Don McKellar and Park Chan-wook for crossing the picket lines to work on the HBO series 'The Sympathizer'

The Robert Downey Jr. produced and starring The Sympathizer came and went last year with a lot less fanfare than many expected due to the talent involved and the fact the miniseries was based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name.
