CRJ705/900: the dorsal strake is not installed on the aircraft, however ventral fins are installed on the base of the fuselage. The fins increase the directional stiffness of the aircraft. Relative to the CRJ700, the ventral fins offset the effects of the fuselage stretch and eliminates the need for the fuselage upper strake.

Jun 17, 2005 · In a CRJ, are they in the back of the jet? For some reason the ram air scoop inlets are shaped different between the CRJ 200 & 700 versions as these two photos show. The 200's inlet is horizontal in shape & the 700's is vertical ..... just some useless info!
