Operating across eleven commercially sustainable specialist research platforms, iiCON’s collaborative effort is directly reducing the global burden of infectious disease with a coordinated initiative to address key roadblocks in global R&D pipelines and strengthen and regenerate the global anti-infectives supply chain.

iiCON, in collaboration with LJMU and AFRIMS in Thailand, is developing a microwave sensor to assess the concentration of Etofenprox and Permethrin insecticides on military uniforms. The project is funded by the Deployed War-Fighter Protection (DWFP) program.

Led by LSTM, iiCON brings together public and private partners in a £170 million programme born out of the Liverpool City Region. The consortium builds on the North West’s UK-leading capability in infectious diseases R&D.
