I haven't painted a dog portrait on such a small scale before but I really enjoyed the challenge. Refining how the brushes needed to be used to ensure the details were right for the smaller size was key. This is so beneficial for then painting larger pieces. Working on having that extra level of control when creating brush strokes but using all key techniques such as blending, glazing and layering but not having to spend multiple days or weeks to finish a painting can help not just improve our p
