At Toronto Airport, even the wildlife keeps the crew on their toes. When a hawk perches too close to an approaching plane’s flight path, airport staff spring into action, using pyrotechnics to scare it off. The bursts of sound and light clear the skies for the plane to land safely, and remind us that even in the busiest airspace, there’s still room for nature to thrive while giving the hawk another chance to fly free.
