Flash, a Northern Goshawk and Raptor-in-Residence here at the Alaska Raptor Center, working with one of her Avian Care Specialists on the glove. The name goshawk comes from the Old English word for “goose hawk,” a reference to this raptor’s habit of preying on birds.
